I've not been entirely happy with the fit of my backpack (Gregory Deva 60), and after exchanging many emails and photographs with George from Gregory Packs I'm ordering a larger waistbelt and shoulder harness. It seems the xs pack fits my torso length, but the harness is off!
The packs are great quality but seem to be built for waifs! I didn't think I was that big but I need a size small shoulder harness and medium waistbelt. Hhmmph!! Thankfully George has been very helpful and I highly recommend the company.
I'm having problems with Patch as she has severe noise phobia, and the RAF jets that pass over several times a day are terrifying her. I don't want her to become afraid of going for walks but we're heading in that direction. I phoned Mic Martin from Dog Borstal today and what a star he is!! We had a really good chat on the phone - he was genuinely interested in helping, and I am hoping to spend a day or two with him to help Patch with both her noise phobia and her constant need to hunt. I would recommend anyone with dog problems to contact him - I'm very impressed with the amount of time he gave me and his genuine interest. The only thing is, I may end up having to sell my motorbike to fund all this unfortunately...so if anyone is interested in a CBR400 which has been renovated and looks and runs like a dream then let me know. It is a fab bike and I would be sorry to see it go, but I know it will be worth it.
No sign of Memory Map yet.......I'm getting a bit twitchy now!

Speaking of Patch, have you considered getting him some Ruff Wear booties?
I hiked a good section of the PCT with a lass called Taru, whose hound Timber was walking very long sections with her.
He was wearing Ruff Wear booties as the trail had worn his paw pads down in the past, making them painfully sore.
After all, most dogs get three or four hours exercise a day at most.

Hi John, thanks for your message. I thought about the booties and emailed Ruff Wear for more info, but I was a bit disappointed that they didn't get back to me at all after 2 emails. I love the Ruffwear gear though.
My main concern is whether the boots themselves could rub. It's good to know that Timber got on well with them though.
Sore pads are one of my biggest concerns as Patch - she's has sore pads twice before when backpacking. These days I have to make sure she doesn't pull and the problem is much better - but I'm still concerned. I'm trying to do as much roadwork and forestry paths as I can to toughen them up, but I think it may still be a good idea to consider the boots as you suggest...

Surprised Ruff Wear haven't got back to you though... maybe they'll email when they get back from walking the dog! Did you email Rosker or Ruff Wear?
Hi John, it was Ruff Wear themselves that I emailed. It is a shame they didn't reply as I love their products but it's always a disappointment when the customer service isn't as good as it could be.
That said there could always be some problem I don't know about so I should give them the benefit of the doubt...
